you take your time counting the minutes before you have to take the stand again and figure out how not to ruin it all.
but as many times as you try, it never gets any easier. the sudden rapid increase of your pulse followed by the sweaty palms and the occasional sttuter, all while butterflies race around your tummy with no mercy.
the feeling always the same and yet always new.
how many times until the mistake settles in and you stop repeating. how many times before you listen to the little voice inside and walk away. walk away without doubting or looking back. then you can smile and say that this is what i want.
